[NOTE:  Online Mapping tools will not get you to Deerfoot.  Most lead you on to East Road, which becomes a dirt road  leading deep into the wilderness...and out of cell phone range!  Use the printed directions below.)

FROM SOUTH:
Take New York State Thruway, I-90 north (west) towards Buffalo.  Go until exit 27, Amsterdam.  Get off this exit and stay to the right.  This will be Rte. 30 north.  Speculator is approximately 60 miles north.  Continue to stay on Rte. 30.  Go straight through Speculator and approximately 6 miles more until you come to pig rock on the right (picture below).  The road for Deerfoot is immediately after pig rock, on the right.

 

FROM WEST:

Take New York State Thruway, 1-90 east towards Albany, NY.  Continue until you come to the Rome/Verona exit - Rte. 365 east.  Go east on Rte. 365 to the end where Rte. 8 intersects.  Take Rte. 8 east to Speculator, approximately 40 miles.  When you reach the 4 corners in Speculator, take a left onto Rte. 30 north.  Travel approximately 6 miles more until you come to pig rock on the right (picture below).  The road for Deerfoot is immediately after pig rock, on the right.

 

FROM EAST:

From Rte. 4 in Vermont, go west towards New York State.  In Fort Ann, NY, connect with Rte. 149 west.  Then take Rte. 9 north, then Rte. 28 north to Rte. 8 west, which joins with Rte. 30 north to Speculator, approximately 14 miles.  In Speculator, stay on Rte. 30 North 6 more miles until you come to the Pig Rock.  The next right is Deerfoot’s road.
